Has any one ever had doctor prescribe prednisone for baby (almost 4month old)?

I have used prednisone myself int he form of a pill before when i had break outs of eczema. My son will be 4 month on 1/4/2007, he is having a really bad case of rash. His face and scalp is itchy, it wakes him up at night because he's always scratching. The skin on his cheeks and around his ears are cracked and pussing. His whole body is dry and peeling with red lesions on his chest stomach back and arms. My regular docs at kaiser kept saying it was NORMAL, but it just keeps getting worse. SO i took him to another doctor today who prescribed him Prednisone liquid form to take for 5 days, and elidel for his whole body and this other liquid steroid to use for his scalp for 5 days. I feel that is soooo much for a little baby, but at this point i would do anything the doctor says to help the baby out. Cus his skin condition just doesnt seem to be getting any better...it just keeps getting worse
