Paladin with heirlooms unfair?

Last weekend Arathi Basin was call to arms. So i thought i would get on my level 27 paladin and Own it up. I just bought the plate heirlooms for him and wasnt expecting much of a difference...I was specced holy btw. I went to the mines knowing i would get beat because of the initial alliance zerg. There were two druids, a warlock, a hunter, a priest, and a rogue ALL trying to kill me. I tanked them all the way up to the blacksmith self healing, only stopping to get a quick flash heal in. I never dropped below 65% mana. Needless to say, i servived the encounter because there were alot of my friends waiting at blacksmith. I felt bad but pleased with myself. Then i thought..imagine what i could do at the highest level in my bracket with these. Then i thought..thats just ridiculous. I would be very angry if i was trying to kill someone Like that. Has anyone ran into this kind of situation?
