How many percent should an apartment for rent increase if they made some major repairs on the entire units?

since my mom went abroad last 2007, i took over paying our apartment unit in cubao with a monthly rental of P7500. Until early this year (2011) the caretaker which happens to be the owners cousin informed us that the owner has decided to do some major repairs on all 4 units and she made us sign an agreement that soon as our contact ends, we must vacate the unit for faster execution of their plans, and the rest will be explained verbally and it includes going back to that same unit after the repair is done. to make the long story short, i left the unit on April 10 hoping that i can come back in time before my daughter goes to school this June since the caretaker told me that the repair will take 2mos to accomplish. but it never happened and up to now the repair is still ongoing. that was acceptable due to some cirstances like the owner decided to make some additional repairs. but is it right to increase the rent from P7500 to P15,000 just because the units has been repaired? isn't it too much? i have suffered enough trouble for that untimely repair, i left my phone connection on that unit, electricity and water and paying them even if we're not there just to make sure that we wont end up looking for a new place to rent but that's what about to happen now. the caretaker told me to just look for another place after telling me in front of the brgy. chairman that we can go back on that unit. its not easy to find one these days. what should i do? i want to know my rights. as much as possible i want to stay on that place. i still have my utility connection in there plus its just a block away from my daughter's school. if they increase to P15,000 i can't stay there anymore its too much.
