94 firebird 3.4 engine swap. goin all out?

i got a 3.4 . i want a v8 in this firebird. the car means alot to me so im not just guna sell it and buy a v8 like people say. i want a engine that poeple usualy dont out in this car. im not sure what engine would b not super expensive. if i find out the right engine i got the knowlage how to. i got many machanics i hang out with. i just need to know a decent racing or high performance engine. hopefully not anything that is sensord out like the brand new cars. so any ideas?
